Actress Amber Heard appears to have deleted her Twitter account, just days after her former beau Elon Musk’s controversial takeover.
He finally closed his $44billion takeover of the social media platform last week, and promptly set about announcing a string of changes.

Elon Musk, the founder of Tesla, has been the focus of multiple contentious stories since recently finalising the acquisition of Twitter. Since the creator of SpaceX now has access to their personal information, users of the social networking platform have openly expressed their worries over the takeover. However, internet users are eager to point out how Amber Heard, a lady from Musk’s past, abruptly vanished from Twitter.

Heard reportedly shut down her Twitter account on Wednesday, according to Marca. As of right moment, the “Aquaman” star’s agents have not commented on the deactivation. So it’s possible that the timing of Musk’s acquisition and Amber Heard’s withdrawal from the application was just a coincidence.

Heard has been ridiculed by internet users in a number of tweets, though. According to one commenter, Heard could have cancelled her Twitter account in an effort to keep her personal details hidden from her ex-boyfriend Musk.

The topic of Twitter’s data privacy has recently become a contentious issue because to rumours that Heard may have cancelled her Twitter account to conceal her personal information from Musk.

According to USA Today, even if Musk has access to its customers’ private information, users’ concerns about the tech tycoon looking through users’ direct conversations would be the least of their issues.

As Musk recently announced a feature to buy out the Twitter blue checkmark for $8 a month, the risk of a leak of private data, such as payment information, has also become a source of increasing worry, according to the Guardian. Despite the negative online feedback Musk has gotten for the concept, the tech magnate is committed to acting as a champion for free expression on behalf of all Twitter users who have paid for premium verification status.

Elon Musk, the founder of Tesla, and actress Amber Heard got to know one other on the set of the action movie “Machete Kills,” in which Heard played the lead role and Musk had a brief cameo.

After working together on the movie, the two stayed close until Heard’s divorce from seasoned actor Johnny Depp, according to Evening Standard. Musk began making romantic advances toward Heard in 2016. The actress even shared a snapshot of the two of them on Instagram, showing Musk with a kiss mark on his cheek.

However, after dating for a year, their relationship apparently ended after breakup rumours surfaced in August 2017. Musk then clarified, “Btw, just to clear up some of the press storms over weekend, although Amber and I did break up, we are still friends, stay close, and love one another,” in a comment on Heard’s Instagram post, confirming the rumours.
